About Nate

My name is Nate Horner. I’m a rancher from Pollockville, south of Hanna, Ab. Proud to say I’m a fifth generation Albertan. My Great, Great Grandfather homesteaded near Oyen, Ab. My wife Jennifer and I have two children Avery (5) and Luke (2). After attending the local high school, I earned an AgBusiness Diploma from Olds College, and later a B.Sc. Degree in Agriculture from the University of Lethbridge.

Post-University I had the opportunity to buy my grandfather’s ranch and have been running and growing the business since. I also ran an oilfield ambulance business and small aggregate hauling business with a local partner. I’ve been an avid volunteer and have held most board positions in local community organizations including, President of The Highway 9 Feeder Assoc, Co-Chair of the Hardgrass Bronc Match and served as an EMR for DEMSA (Dryland Emergency Medical Services Assoc).

My goal is to help Jason Kenney and the UCP make Alberta once again the most competitive jurisdiction in North America, make government smaller, massively decrease our regulatory burden and stand up for ourselves and our industries. I hope to be a strong voice for everything Ag, Oil and Rural and a thoughtful, approachable representative for the constituents of Drumheller-Stettler.
